Colonial Eye Spy

Colonial Stroll
4th & 5th Grade | 90 minutes
Students stroll past historic homes and mansions while learning about life in the 18th century and the important figures that helped make Annapolis and Maryland what we see today. Includes guided tour of the Maryland State House.

Hammond-Harwood House Dining Room – 15 minutes
In the formal dining room of an 18th century mansion, students will learn about the roles of the gentry and laboring classes in Colonial America.
William Paca House Kitchen – 15 minutes
Explore the kitchen of William Paca, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, for an immersive, engaging, and memorable experience. Be greeted by the cook or an indentured servant who share the food, customs, and lives of the enslaved people, and bound labor in the Colonial Era.
We Hold These Truths… – 30 minutes
Enter the historic William Paca House to the “We Hold These Truths” exhibit, which examines the Declaration of Independence and the lives of the men who pledged themselves to its purpose and ideals: William Paca, Samuel Chase, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, and Thomas Stone. View historic objects associated with each signer, and learn surprising “truths” about these four patriots. Step into William Paca’s personal study to see where these founders discussed our country’s future.
Hogshead – 20-30 minutes
Visit the 18th-century home of an Annapolis tradesperson, and enjoy learning how the “middling” class would have lived through an interactive presentation.
Maryland State House

Experience four centuries of Maryland history at the oldest state capitol in continuous legislative use.
U.S. Naval Academy

African American Heritage

Retrace the journey from the first ships of slavery through centuries of struggle to modern-day recognition and success. Presented in partnership with the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Foundation.

Celebrate women’s history with a period-attired Suffragist and learn about the roles of women in society over the centuries, those who broke down barriers, and their impact on our world today.
Critter Cruise
K-5th Grade | 1 hour
Explore the Chesapeake Bay’s ecosystem out on the water. Learn about blue crabs, eels, oysters, ospreys, and more! In partnership with the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park.
Chesapeake 101 Package

An environmental literacy program with team-building, crabbing, oyster ecology, and more! Led by Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park docents, followed by a 40-minute cruise.
