Making Our Mark

Making Our Mark: Safety First

Watermark’s focus on safety has been embedded in our culture since we welcomed our first guests in 1972. Protecting our community is a full time job – and no one knows this better than our first responders. Since 9/11 we have worked closely with first responders on safety and security. So when the Annapolis Police Department needed a boat to conduct special training exercises that help protect our waterways, they called Watermark.

Our US Coast Guard has come to Watermark for training their vessel inspectors. Why? We recognize that resource-sharing develops relationships that elevate awareness and effectiveness, boosting public safety on our waterways. Constant drilling on many fronts supports our superlative safety record. The first responders know that Watermark is a partner they can count on to keep our community safe.

In addition to training and safety with first responders,Watermark proudly provided a relaxing cruise on the Chesapeake Bay during the veterans’ 3-day Warrior Sailing Program Basic Training Camp hosted by Annapolis Yacht Club. Using sailing as a platform, Warrior Sailing positively impacts the participant’s physical and mental health while reconnecting them with the camaraderie and teamwork previously found in military service. Watermark proudly gave back and honored those who have served our country. Learn more about Warrior Sailing by clicking here.
