Making Our Mark: Going Green to Make the Bay Blue
At Watermark, we believe in healthy waterways. We are constantly looking for new ways to reduce our environmental footprint and protect the Bay for generations to come. Whether it is during a wedding on board, or seeing dolphins on the way to beautiful St. Michaels, Watermark knows keeping our Bay healthy is essential for our many guests to enjoy the Chesapeake from our vessels.
When the Susquehanna River crested, washing tons of debris into our waterways, Watermark was there. We rolled up our sleeves, and helped the Annapolis Harbormaster clean up Ego Alley. Watermark believes in conserving, protecting, and preserving our environment. So when the Severn River Association and Oyster Recovery Partnership teamed up to plant 50 million oysters in the Severn River, Watermark assisted in making it happen.
Watermark has proudly partnered with the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park since its inception. The Annapolis Maritime Museum educates youth and adults about the Annapolis area's rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay. In this partnership, students experience programs that educate our youth on ecology and protecting our Bay.
For the summer of 2019, Watermark is taking its stance on plastic straws to the next level. We have transitioned to paper straws for the summer of 2019. Proudly going green to make the Bay blue.
