(Annapolis, MD) – Oh, say can you see? Francis Scott Key himself will lead a complimentary “War of 1812 in Annapolis” walking tour in celebration of Maryland Day on Saturday, March 22. Annapolis Tours® by Watermark® is proud to offer this tour free to the public in celebration of Maryland’s heritage during Four Rivers Heritage Area’s Maryland Day weekend. Francis Scott Key, portrayed by Frederick Taylor, will lead the tour in 1812 period dress. Four Rivers recognized Taylor as “Interpreter of the Year” in 2013 for his Key interpretation.

Watermark is a proud member of the Four Rivers Heritage Area, host of the weekend’s activities. “We developed this tour in partnership with the United States Naval Academy especially for the region’s 1812 Bicentennial celebration. It’s our newest tour and only offered to the public for a limited time,” says Heather Skipper, Director of Land Operations for Watermark. “Frederick Taylor’s award-winning portrayal of Francis Scott Key will add a special bit of magic to this tour for our Maryland Day guests,” says Skipper.
