Annapolis Tours’ African American Heritage Tour, a two-hour walking tour of Annapolis’ historic district is offered in honor of Black History Month. The tour takes place on Saturday, February 18th at 1 pm. Watermark is proud to offer this tour – available year-round to groups – to the general public during this special month. Presented in partnership with the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Foundation, this engaging tour covers some of the most significant events in African-American history.

The Queen of All Food Drives Collected Equivalent of over 10,000 Pounds of Food

Annapolis’ favorite sightseeing boat, Watermark’s Harbor Queen ended her 45th season of cruising with a splash and bearing gifts! Offered by Watermark as a viewing platform for the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade, an event on Harbor Queen collected 183 pounds of food and $2,780 for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank. According to the Food Bank, this is equivalent to 10,383 pounds of food – enough to feed 371 families of 4 for a month. Guests stepped aboard Harbor Queen to watch the Parade with admission being a donation to the Food Bank. A portion of proceeds from beverages sold from the River Run Bar during the event was also donated by Watermark. The boat’s slip at the end of City Dock proved to be a prime viewing spot for the parade.

Holiday Candlelight Stroll with Hammond Harwood House Tour

Take a historic journey of the roots of our holiday tradition! Annapolis Tours℠ by Watermark® is happy to announce the return of its Holiday Candlelight Stroll for the 2016 holiday season. On this walking tour, a Colonial period-dressed guide leads guests by candlelight through the historic district – trimmed in holiday greenery and lights – and shares the origin of many holiday customs. The tour culminates with a guided tour inside the historic Hammond Harwood House decorated for the holidays, included in the ticket price. Watermark Presents the “Queen of All Food Drives” During Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade

Bring a donation…party with the Queen! Annapolis’ favorite boat, Watermark’s Harbor Queen is excited to host “The Queen of All Food Drives” during the Annual Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade on Saturday, December 10 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The holiday food drive benefits the Anne Arundel County Food Bank. For a donation of non-perishable food items, pet food or a monetary donation, guests can watch the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade from Harbor Queen at the end of City Dock, a prime viewing location for this Annapolis holiday tradition. Watermark’s crew and staff members will decorate Harbor Queen in bright holiday lights and décor. The boat will stay dockside for the evening with entertainment on board. The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is also a sponsor.

Watermark Made a Splash in Baltimore for Fleet Week

Where do Watermark’s Annapolis boats go during Boat Show? To join their Baltimore cohorts for Fleet Week! The city of Baltimore hosted an impressive and memorable Inaugural Maryland Fleet Week and Air Show. The entire event was as flawless as a Blue Angels performance! To ensure a successful week in Baltimore, Watermark brought most of its fleet – the largest private fleet in the Chesapeake Bay – from Annapolis to Baltimore. Raven and Annapolitan II, Watermark’s vessels who call Baltimore home, enjoyed the company with the added vessels giving Watermark expanded opportunities to take more people out for the event. Months of planning and coordination with the United States Coast Guard, the Association of Maryland Pilots and Visit Maryland ensured an organized, successful and safe Fleet Week for all of Watermark’s guests. Over the course of four days, Watermark alone was responsible for bringing nearly 1,300 people to Baltimore to observe Fleet Week. They enjoyed cruising around the visiting Naval vessels and watching the Air Shows from aboard five different Watermark yachts.

Watermark Donates to the AACSPCA & Announces a Second Doggie Cruise

Cruises on the Bay™ by Watermark®’s Harbor Queen went to the dogs on Thursday, July 24th for the 3rd Annual “Dog Days of Summer Cruise.” Watermark made a donation of $1,462 to the Anne Arundel County SPCA from the sold-out cruise. Around 95 people and nearly as many dog “pawsengers” stepped onboard the iconic Annapolis boat for food from Graul’s Market, treats for pets, a silent auction and a relaxing cruise down the Severn River. Music played while dogs kept cool in the summer heat with dips in baby pools on Harbor Queen’s top deck and human passengers stayed cool with drinks from the River Run Bar. Based off the success of the summer cruise, Watermark will usher in Fall with the SPCA on a “Dogtober Fest Cruise” on October 1!

Frederick Taylor Day in Annapolis

Huzzah! The Annapolis Towne Crier is often on hand for city citations but this time the City of Annapolis surprised Frederick Taylor, the Official Annapolis Towne Crier, with a citation in his honor. July 15th is now “Frederick Taylor Day” in Annapolis! The date was selected because it is Taylor’s birthday. Frederick Taylor Day recognizes the contributions Taylor has made as an ambassador to the city of Annapolis in his role as the Towne Crier, his portrayal of Francis Scott Key and as Squire Frederick, a tour guide for Annapolis Tours by Watermark. In an emotional speech, Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides bestowed Taylor with the honor at July 13th’s City Council Meeting at City Hall.

Watermark and Fire Departments Team Up for Safety

Watermark recently hosted around 100 Annapolis City and Anne Arundel County Firefighters and Paramedics on board their vessels for marine training exercises. The exercises, four in total conducted on three different Watermark vessels, allowed firefighters and paramedics to familiarize themselves and prepare response protocols in the event of a fire, medical or other emergency on board Watermark’s vessels. Many large vessels come into Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. Because the Fire Department can’t often access those private vessels, Watermark’s fleet was used as an example of the different types of vessels that visit our waterways.

2015 Water Taxi Service Begins in Annapolis

Annapolis and Eastport’s favorite way to get around returns this weekend! The Annapolis Water Taxi, owned and operated by Watermark, begins service for the 2015 season starting this Friday, April 17th. The Water Taxi will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays now until daily service starts in mid-May. Also returning to Watermark’s schedule this weekend are 90-minute cruises on Saturday and Sunday.

In less than three years in her role at Watermark, DeLancey has made her mark in the industry. Her responsibilities include booking and coordinating group tour business, establishing and maintaining industry relationships, planning and developing Special Event tours and more.

Watermark’s Director of Land Operations Awarded Heritage Professional of the Year

Watermark’s Director of Land Operations Heather Skipper was awarded “Heritage Professional of the Year” by Four Rivers: The Heritage Area of Annapolis, London Town & South County at the 11th Annual Heritage Awards on November 6, 2014 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. Heather Skipper was recognized for her dedication, vision, partnership, and support of the heritage interpretation for diverse audiences in our area. As Director of Land Operations for Watermark, Skipper manages a staff of over 60 tour guides, recruits employees, plans an intensive annual training series, develops historical tours, schedules thousands of public and private tour shifts each year and maintains partner relationships with area historic properties, heritage groups, government agencies and the United States Naval Academy.

Watermark and Historic Annapolis Bring “Special Historic Hauntings” to Annapolis

As the weather chills, summer dies off and decomposing leaves begin crunching under your feet, it’s time to experience a ghostly tour with Annapolis Tours℠ by Watermark® and Historic Annapolis. During the month of October, Watermark’s Historic Ghost Walk expands to Special Historic Hauntings to include an exclusive – and rarely offered – trip inside the haunted William Paca House at night. Ghoulish period dressed guides lead the way by candlelight through historic – and many say haunted – Annapolis. And who knows, after a trip inside the Paca House’s “sick room,” your own story may be added to the history of Annapolis. Special Historic Hauntings begins Friday, October 3rd and is offered Friday and Saturday evenings through November 1st.

Watermark’s 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer Cruise Generates Money for AACSPCA

While some are happy to welcome Fall, we know of a few dozen dogs wishing it was still Summer! To benefit the Anne Arundel County SPCA, Cruises on the Bay™ by Watermark®’s Harbor Queenwent to the dogs on Thursday, July 24th for the 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer Cruise. Over 90 people and almost as many dogs stepped onboard the iconic Annapolis boat for a barking good time cruising on the beautiful Severn River, dining on treats from Graul’s Market and listening to live music. A silent auction generated funds for our local SPCA in addition to a donation from Watermark. Dogs kept cool in the summer heat by bobbing for hot dogs in baby pools on Harbor Queen’s top deck and human passengers stayed cool with mixed drinks and a breezy evening.

Watermark Works with Local Historians to Update Tour

Cruises on the Bay™ by Watermark®’s narrated Spa Creek Tour has been cruising the waters of Spa Creek in Annapolis for 30 years and is a favorite cruise for visitors and locals. Watermark is proud to announce the tour has undergone a makeover for historical accuracy and a better customer experience. It should come as no surprise that Watermark works closely with area historians to develop the company’s historical walking tours. Watermark Recognized by United States Coast Guard for Excellence

Watermark kicks off its 2014 cruise season with recognition by the United States Coast Guard for excellence in vessel maintenance, safety and crew proficiency. Watermark maintains the largest private fleet of yachts in the Chesapeake Bay region – offered for private charter and public sightseeing cruises in Annapolis and Baltimore – and most vessels in the fleet are United States Coast Guard certified vessels. This means each passenger vessel undergoes rigorous safety inspections annually. Watermark has been awarded eight awards for vessels in their fleet that have undergone a range of five to ten years of Coast Guard inspections without any substantial deficiencies.

Cruise to the St. Michaels Wine Festival on a Luxury Yacht with Watermark

Free War of 1812 Walking Tour led by Francis Scott Key for Maryland Day

Oh, say can you see? Francis Scott Key himself will lead a complimentary “War of 1812 in Annapolis” walking tour in celebration of Maryland Day on Saturday, March 22. Explore Local African American History with Annapolis Tours by Watermark

Annapolis Tours by Watermark happily announces its first special event tour of 2014! Annapolis Tours’ African American Heritage Tour, a two-hour walking tour of Annapolis’ historic district is offered in honor of Black History Month and is an official event of the Maryland Emancipation Day celebration. The tour takes place on February 15th, 2014. Watermark is proud to offer this tour – available year-round to groups – to the general public during this special month. This year’s tour is also a part of the year-long celebration of the sesquicentennial – the 150th anniversary – of the Maryland constitution that put an end to slavery one year prior to complete national emancipation. Presented in partnership with the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Foundation, this engaging tour covers some of the most significant events in African-American history.

Watermark Excursion Yacht, Raven, Welcomed to Baltimore in Grand Style

Under a resplendent afternoon sun, over 200 invited guests, including tourism, hospitality, maritime and elected officials gathered to enjoy the vessel christening and first ‘official’ look at Raven, Watermark’s newest excursion yacht. Greeted by potted ferns and a purple carpet visitors took in all 99-feet and two decks of this new ‘baby bird!’ Known for iconic images on the Chesapeake Bay, including Annapolis’ Harbor Queen – now celebrating her 40th birthday – Watermark married the height of classic form with the elegance and convenience of modern interiors and functionality with their newest addition at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Watermark was honored with 2 awards from Maryland Tourism Council during the 2011 Maryland Tourism & Travel Summit Awards Banquet held in Prince Georges County Thursday, November 3. Watermark’s Harbor Queen campaign won the Continuing Campaign Promotion award and Heather Skipper, Director of Land Operations, won the Maryland Tourism Education Foundation award for Educational Development.
