May is a traditionally busy month at Watermark with USNA Commissioning Week activities (hello, Blue Angels!), field trips and Memorial Day weekend events. We look forward to the lovely month of June which will include our regularly scheduled cruises and tours plus a couple special somethings too...
Wednesday Night Races Cruises
A combination of happy hour, sailing and cruising on Harbor Queen...it doesn't get any more Annapolis than this! We introduced our Wednesday Night Sailboat Races Cruise a couple years ago and they've become one of our favorite Special Events to host. Kick back on Harbor Queen with a drink from the River Run Bar (have you tried the Watermark Whistler yet?), nosh on some complimentary happy hour snacks and enjoy the races. The races have been a summer tradition since the 1960s. They start with the blast of a starting gun in the harbor and dozens of sailboats head to the starting line in the Severn River and race to the finish line in Spa Creek. Annapolitans love to ease into the weekend by watching the races from the waterfront and waterways. Harbor Queen offers up quite the view. It's a nice opportunity for summer sailing photos too! Our first of the season comes up on June 15.

While not officially a Special Event because it's joining our regular schedule of walking tours, ArchiTrex is making the transition from Maryland Day event to regularly offered tour...and that's pretty special! This 2-hour architecture walking tour is a lively narration of Annapolis' most notable architecture from century to century. The tour was developed in partnership with Historic Annapolis for historical vetting and accuracy and with professional architects. In fact, an architect will lead the tour each time it's offered. After guests on the Maryland Day tour clapped at the end of the tour we knew we needed to make ArchiTrex something available for everyone. Annapolis is a treasure trove of architecture, design and art. We're so excited to have a tour dedicated to this story. ArchiTrex will be offered on the second and fourth Saturday of the month June-September.
